Time To Move To Shopify 2.0?

Hello Readers!🥰

Shopify 2.0 is turning 1🤩 if you’re still not a user, read on why everyone’s upgrading!

In this blog, you will find:

🎊 Celebrating Shopify 2.0

🧐 Youtube Shorts, a longer form of Tiktok?

😍Pinterest Idea Ads. A new ad platform?

CELEBRATING SHOPIFY 2.0

It’s been almost a year since Shopify 2.0 launched. The new version has been a boon to all the Shopify store owners that have upgraded to the latest version, providing an array of benefits that not only smoothen the development process but also ensure a much better user experience.

Well here are a few things that we’ve experienced in our usage of this version of Shopify, that hits beyond the satisfaction faction bar. 🤩

🚀HIGHER CONVERSION RATES

Well, you must be thinking how is just upgrading going to give higher conversions? 🧐

It’s because of the speed!

Yes! The amazingly smooth and fast themes make the site quite fast and reduce load speed making the bounce rate negligible and thus CONVERSION HIGHER!

This is proven by the default Dawn theme which is 35% faster than the older theme, which was used by 50% of the Shopify users.

Here’s a comparison of both the vintage Shopify theme and Dawn Theme.

🚀 MANAGE DEVELOPMENT AND CONTENT

Shopify 2.0 has a very simple user interface and allows you to brand every corner of your website, thus giving both development and content managing powers to the owner without needing a line of code.

Here’s how the owner can control their development:

With just a few touches it’s now possible to control the look of your theme🤩

Here’s how you can manage content better with Shopify 2.0 :

With the owner having the ease of adding any branding content anywhere in any format it’s a cakewalk to optimize the user experience and place CTAs in the right places to convert the customers.

🚀MANAGE ADD-ONs

If you are a brand with many variants and products with different specifications, we’re sure you’ve struggled through the addition of Meta fields like colour swatches and specifications to your products on the site.

Traditionally you’d have to get a developer 🥸or use third-party services but with Shopify 2.0 you now have a provision to create your custom Meta fields.

Here’s an example for both Specification meta fields and Variant meta fields.

Apart from all of these, managing your apps is also much easier with the Shopify 2.0 upgrade, as you can now just install apps and drag and position them on the front of the site depending on where do you want them to be placed, here’s an example below :

And these are pretty much all the major benefits of Shopify 2.0! What are the features you’d like to add to make it even better? Reply with your answers😁

YOUTUBE SHORTS, A LONG-FORM TIKTOK?

YouTube announced recently that YouTube Shorts is now being seen by over 1.5 billion logged-in users every month, less than two years after its introduction, to position itself as a legitimate challenger to TikTok, the reigning short-form video platform. TikTok, on the other hand, announced one billion monthly users in September 2021.

YouTube emphasized Shorts’ capacity to bring viewers to creators’ long-form video channels as a result of its efforts in Shorts in conjunction with its new milestone. The trend is referred to as “the rise of the multiformat producer,” but it appears to be more of an acknowledgement that YouTube still values 💯 longer-form material.

Youtube said that users even though may turn to short-form content to kill time, they still view the long-form content with a higher motive and stronger intent.

Youtube justifies its strategy as short-form content as a way of getting more views 👀 to the particular creators’ long-form content. This strategy is paying off as channels that upload both short and long-form material have higher overall watch time and subscriber growth than channels that exclusively post one format.

PINTEREST IDEA ADS. A NEW AD PLATFORM?

With the launch of Idea Pins 💡 last year, Pinterest began its transition from being an online image board to becoming more of a creator platform.

The new feature lets Pinterest users express their stories using a mix of video, photographs, music, and other editing tools, resulting in something that’s a hybrid between TikTok’s short films and Pinterest’s Stories offering, which has numerous pages of information. With the debut of its new “Idea Ads,” Pinterest is making this new format available to its advertisers.

Similar to much of Pinterest’s organic content, this ad style is designed to give advertisers a method to connect with their audience on the platform, which can subsequently drive traffic to their websites or inspire future shopping purchases. The Idea Ads themselves are essentially Idea Pins created by marketers or in conjunction between a business and an artist. In Pinterest lingo, the latter is referred to as “Idea advertisements with the sponsored partnership.”
